Bartlesville OK – CARP Tournament Series has once again accepted the invitation from the community of Baldwinsville, New York to bring pro-level catch-and-release anglers to Central New York this spring. For the fourth year in a row, the Oklahoma-based professional tournament organization will draw a field of international and American anglers to the Seneca River for their CARPT Tournament Series Northeast Regionals competition May 13-15, 2010.
The Seneca River has earned a reputation as a prolific fishery for the common carp as the annual tournament has produced unprecedented quantities of fish during the action-packed competitions. Since 2007, a cumulative weight of over 49 ton – more than 98,000 pounds of carp have been caught and released during the contests. (more…)

If you see people fishing on the Connecticut River this week at midnight or 3 a.m., this may explain it: There is a professional carp fishing tournament from 9 a.m. today through 9 a.m. Saturday, 72 hours straight, day and night.
“The Connecticut River carp are large and healthy,” said Kathleen Kelly-Ori, who heads up publicity for the CARP Tournament Series. “This is the only U.S. tournament where we fish on tidal-affected waters. That is a challenge to the anglers who do not fish that type of water.”"
David Moore (right) of CARPTS met up with Angling Publications editor Martin Ford (left) and publisher Tim Paisley (center) on the St. Lawrence River in July and discuss the upcoming World Carp Championship in Lac de Madine, France in September 2009.
Two U.S. teams will compete in the 2009 World Carp Classic this August against 128 other international teams.
