Team USA in the World Carp Classic 2009, Lac de Madine, France

WCC-Logo-2009_smallTwo U.S. teams will compete in the 2009 World Carp Classic this August against 128 other international teams. David Moore of Bartlesville, OK, as team captain, and Louis Cook of Philadelphia, PA comprise one of the two teams from the United States. Louis is the President of the Carp Anglers Group and David is the director for the CARP Tournament Series and a founding director of the American Carp Society.

North Carolinians, Colin Peters and Tom Brooks are on the second U.S. team. Brooks and Peters qualified for the WCC by winning CARPTS South Central Regionals at Lake Hominy, Oklahoma in April.

Their trip and entry to the tournament are sponsored by CARP Tournament Series.

Prizes

Contestants will have a shot at the largest total in prizes in the history of the tournament—approximately $97,000.

First prize winners will receive almost $14,000 and be eligible to win other titles such as “First Fish” and “Biggest Fish”, for which there will also be prizes.The 2009 WCC will receive the most media attention of all previous WCC tournaments and will be broadcasted internationally on TV for the first time.
